HELLO 2018

Happy New Year and hello 2018!

2017 was a whirlwind year and technically I have lived in three countries in one year (I wrote a little post about that here). We have had our ups and downs getting to this point, living in teeny rooms at AirBnBs for three months was one of the longer lows, but it paid off eventually! I'm currently snuggled up in my apartment in Toronto on New Years Day, it's -10 degrees outside, the warmest it has been in a while, and I am genuinely very happy.

Sometimes I worry about not yet having enough money for a deposit on a house, whether I should be going in another direction with my career, eating healthier and working out more; but really, when I think about it, I'm 23 and I still have a good few years before I want to start being a real grown up. 2018 is going to be another year of fun and adventures, we have lots of travelling plans and I have lots of blog plans also.

I sat down earlier to write my 2018 goals and decided I really want to focus on my blog this year but in an achievable way. I always dive head first into things, I'll look at my blog and decide that I want to post 3/4 times a week whilst having a full time job, seeing friends and trying to workout in between and it's just not possible. I have set a goal of at least one post a week, and (hopefully) at least 3 in the pipeline just in case I have a super busy week.

I also REALLY want to focus on my insta this year (@eliseroseloves). Instagram is so hard to grow and it is so frustrating, but it is probably my favourite platform, but also the most time consuming. I am such a perfectionist and end up not posting for weeks because I don't think I have a good enough picture. I don't want to start posting bad content but I think I need to relax a little, and if the picture isn't perfect but is a memory that makes me smile, or a flatlay with a little speck of dirt I didn't see before, I'm not going to stress about it.

For anyone else trying to grow their instagram, give me a follow and I will follow you back! One of my plans for insta this year (which I have already started), is helping with everyone in my little community by liking lots of pictures, commenting, interacting and just being generally positive and supportive; so I'd love to grow and help and support other people grow at the same time, we all know how hard it can be on Instagram!

I think writing down your goals is a great idea, dream big but have smaller goals along the way so you can see your path is going in the write direction. I hope 2018 is the best year yet. Let me know what your goals and plans are for 2018!

Love,

Elise Rose
