Drugstore Favourites

So I have bought a fair bit of new make-up recently, I thought I'd write a little post on my favourite purchases.

Soap & Glory 'Lid Stuff'

  Shade: What's nude

I find it hard to get good eyeshadow from a drugstore, so when I heard people raving about a new Soap & Glory product, I had to try it. I love Soap & Glory, their skincare range is so good, I'm always up for trying their new products. Obviously this eyeshadow isn't as good as the higher range brands, however I can easily say it's the best drugstore eyeshadow I've tried. When I've worn it (which has only been in the evening so far), has stayed on my eyes all evening. I got the 'what's nude' palette, I really like the neutral colours, I'm usually a fan of a more natural make-up look so this really is pretty perfect for a drugstore find.

Rimmel 'Stay Matte' Powder

Shade: 002 Pink Blossom

This stuff is fab (I use it a lot, as you can see). Yes it is pretty simplistic packaging, but it really does the job. I find it keeps the shine at bay (I'm lucky that I don't have particularly oily skin anyway, but this has reduced the appearance of what I did have). This is probably a strange comment, but the only thing I don't really like about it is I find that it has a slightly strange smell when you apply it, not awful, just odd. But other than that I love it!

L'oreal 'le blush'

Shade:145 Rosewood

This was a great find, it gives a gorgeous glow to your cheeks and doesn't budge all day. Although it is very pigmented so you only need a tiny bit on your brush or you end up looking like a bit of a clown. It is absolutely perfect for me, I'm very pale and like a little rosy tint on my cheeks.

Sleek Palette

Shade: 373 Light

I can't tell you how happy I am that I picked this up. It's amazing. I don't actually use the blush because I have one that I'm in love with already, but the bronzer and highlighter are great. I love the bronzer for contouring, and the highlight is one of the best I've tried. I don't like it when it's too shimmery and I think this is a great balance.

Real Techniques Brushes

Real Techniques Core Collection Kit

Why did I not get these sooner? I've always had a mix and match of brushes, until I popped into Superdrug and saw this Real Technique Core Collection kit. I think they're great for people starting out with make-up, or if you're just in need for a new set of base brushes. The set comes with (in order of front to back) a buffing brush, a contouring brush, a detailer brush and a detailer brush.

What are your drugstore favourites?

  2. I've heard so many people raving about the Soap&Glory palette! It looks stunning <3 Shame that Soap and Glory isn't as popular in the states because I don't think they sell the palette where I live
