January Favourites

So I got a lot of new bits and bobs this month, I thought I'd share some of my favourites with you guys. Enjoy!

Benefit 'They're Real' Mascara

This is my go to mascara at the moment, I love it. I got this for Christmas and have worn it almost every day since. I'd say it's more of a daily wear mascara, it's quite subtle but makes your lashes look gorgeous and it's so natural. Amazing if you want to splash out on a great natural looking mascara.

Lush 'Brazened Honey' Face mask

I bought this when I did my mini lush haul and tried this for the first time the other day and it's fab. It has honey in it and smells beautiful. It tells you to leave it on for 10 minutes (I left it on for 15 so it got a little stiffer) and when you wash it off your skin just feels so fresh and soft. Pair with the Lush 'Sympathy for the skin' moisturiser and it's just a dream.

I am candle obsessed. However as I'm a student, I'm on a pretty tight budget and I can't really justify spending my student loan on White Company candles. So I was browsing Primark and decided to try out a couple of candles from their range.

The 'Amazon Lily' (left) is probably my favourite. It gives a lovely fresh scent which isn't too overpowering, I'm not really a fan of heavy sweet, sickly scents; so this is just perfect for me.

The little candle trio (right) is something that I've not actually tried myself. However I bought a couple of these as presents, the packaging is really cute and I just think they'd look lovely dotted around a bedroom.

VO5 Give Me Texture Spray

This is a godsend. My hair is naturally straight, shiny and heavy. So it goes flat really quickly. This spray makes it look a bit more tousled and gives it a cute 'just got out of bed' look. I am in love, you literally just spray it into your hair, give it a little scrunch and voila, done.

Brita Filter Bottle

So my new years resolution was stay healthy, I wrote a post about keeping healthy as a student and one of the tips was to to drink more water. I'm at uni in Nottingham and I'm not a massive fan of their tap water, and I certainly can't afford to buy bottled water all the time. This is a Brita water filter bottle and has a little filter in the cap which purifies the water. I love the shape of it and the fact it has a straw, it makes me enjoy drinking water more. (Is that weird? Probably.)

My Future Listography

I got this a little while ago from my boyfriend and at first didn't want to write in it because it's too pretty. At the beginning of this year I filled out a few pages (in pencil, just in case) and I just love it. I am list obsessed and I just think it's such a sweet and lovely idea.

MAC 217 Brush

It has taken me SO long to get one of these, yes I have realised I've been missing out. It makes blending eyeshadow so easy, and gives a gorgeous finish (as I'm sure everyone already knows, most of the female population has one) this is a must have.

So these are my January favourites. These little items have been glued to my side all month and I'm pretty sure they will be for the rest of the year.

I hope you enjoyed this post, what have your favourites been this month?

  1. Oooh the 217 brush is on my wish list 😊
I wasn't overly keen on the mascara, I did a post about it.
Have you smelt the Orange and cranberry Yankee candle? Sooo lush, I only get the £1 ones. Lol.
    Great set of favourites :)

    1. you should definitely get it! aw really? I'll take a look!
ohh no I haven't smelt it! I'll look out for it :)
      thank you!

  2. Ooh I'm looking for a new face mask, how is it with spot prone skin do you know?

    1. I'm not sure this one is specifically for spot prone skin, but I don't think it would do any harm to it. You should check out their Cosmetic Warrior face mask, it has tea tree in it and is for spot prone skin!

  3. I love Benefit 'They're Real' mascara! I found that if you layer it with a thicker formula mascara underneath your eyelashes look so good!
